The palace and gardens of Luxembourg were built between 1615 and 1624 to Maria de Medici.
The palace, after the start of the Revolution, was used as a prison during the Second World War as headquarters for the German aviation. The park was built a bunker. The palace now houses the Senate and the gardens are open to the public.
Of its 25 hectares of its central location and a real oasis for the city. Was even bigger before the Baron Haussmann during the remodeling of the city, cut several pieces to annex adjacent boulevards.
In the compound there are various leisure facilities and an outdoor café.
